Finnish private equity company Sponsor Capital will become the majority owner of Finncont, a leader in circular economy. The aim of the transaction is to support Finncont’s future growth both in its current markets as well as internationally. In accordance with an agreement signed in October 2021, a fund managed by Sponsor Capital will become Finncont’s new majority owner. Finncont’s management team members will continue as significant shareholders in the company, and the current majority owners will continue as minority shareholders.
Finncont is a Finnish company providing environmentally sound products and solutions for waste management and safe transfer and storage of chemicals. In addition to their broad product offering, Finncont offers R&D and contract manufacturing services. The company was established in 1974, and today it operates globally with approximately 160 employees in Lahti and Virrat, Finland and Gothenburg, Sweden.
